Belo collects three hits, Levin drives in two
The Colonials trailed 6-0 after seven innings and had mustered just four hits against Flyer starter Eli Majick to that point. Aided by a pair of errors, including a run-scoring miscue, GW got back in the game as Noah Levin smacked a two-run double to cut the deficit to 6-3.
Dayton, though, responded with three runs of its own in the bottom of the eighth to double its lead back to six.
GW put together another rally in the ninth with Tim Nicholson delivering an RBI double before coming around to score on a sac fly from Sam Gates. Ryan Packard came on to quiet the GW comeback attempt and secure the series win for the Flyers.
Bryan Belo paced the Buff & Blue offense with three hits, while Michael Kohn reached base four times, going 2-for-2 with a pair of walks.
GW will now take the mid-week off before returning home for a three-game series next weekend vs. Richmond. First pitch in Friday's series opener is set for 3 p.m.
