5/16/2026 4:45:00 PM | Baseball
Prior to Saturday's season finale versus Dayton, the George Washington baseball team honored the six senior members of the program during a pregame ceremony on Tucker Field. The Revolutionaries ultimately fell to the Flyers, 6-2, finishing the 2026 season with an 18-35 record.
Â
Prior to first pitch, Greg Marmo, Max Haug, Reese Crochet, Charlie Rogan, Jack Kent and Luke LeMond were celebrated for their athletic and academic careers at GW as each earned a degree from the university this spring.
Â
The Buff & Blue jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first inning, using an RBI groundout from Cristino Tufano to score Kent from third base. The next four innings were controlled by Dayton as the Flyers posted one run in the second, two in the third and three in the fifth to take a 6-1 advantage.
Â
The Revolutionaries chipped away at the deficit in the fifth as Marmo laced an RBI double into the left-center gap, scoring Michael Bravette, but the GW Revs couldn't push across any more runs in the final four innings to mount a comeback.
Â
GW used six pitchers in the game, with Colin Lebel earning the start. Lebel tossed two innings, allowing one earned run. Drew Oppenheim, Henry Knighton and Jonas Aponick each tossed scoreless outings in relief for GW.
