GW baseball Assistant Coach Ramon Garza has been elevated to the program's recruiting coordinator, Head Coach Gregg Ritchie announced on Tuesday. Garza arrived in Foggy Bottom in 2025 and helped guide GW's squad during the 2026 season.
Â
Garza now takes the lead on all recruiting-related items for GW baseball, including talent evaluation, campus visits and travel. A valued member of GW's staff last season, Garza helped three players earn All-Conference awards, including Robbie Lavey and Cristino Tufano, who were selected as A-10 Second Team honorees.
Â
Arriving at GW after spending one season as the Head Coach for Dallas College – Mountain View, Garza led the Lions to the postseason for the first time since 2019, seeing two of his players earn all-conference honors in the process.
Â
Prior to taking over at Mountain View, Garza spent one season as an assistant at Dallas College Eastfield, seeing unprecedented success. The Bees amassed a stellar 50-15 overall record, advancing to the NJCAA Division III National Championship. The program also captured a DAC regular season title and finished as the Division III South Central District runner-up. Two of Eastfield's players were honored as NJCAA All-Americans, while Garza was tabbed the American Baseball Coaches Association NJCAA Assistant Coach of the Year.
