Head Coach Gregg Ritchie and the George Washington baseball program have announced the addition of Peyton Traywick to the coaching staff. Traywick will serve as the program's Associate Head Coach and Pitching Coach.
Â
"We're excited to welcome Peyton as our Associate Head Coach and Pitching Coach," said Ritchie. "He brings a high-level skill set of both building relationships and technical instructing, development and coaching ability. Peyton exudes our values, expectations and standards. He's also an accomplished communicator both in individual instruction and at the team level, while having a wealth of pitching development experience. He's a winner with a track record of success, and his "all in" dedication and commitment to our pitching staff will have an immediate productive impact on GW Baseball. We are excited to have Peyton's high energy, work ethic and positivity at The Tuck and on our Foggy Bottom Campus."
Â
Traywick lands at GW after most recently serving as the Head Coach at the University of Arkansas Rich Mountain. During his two seasons with the Bucks, Traywick helped lead the program to 44 wins, including 16 in conference action. Traywick guided two players to single-season program records in 2026, while also guiding one player to a program career record. 12 of Traywick's players from the 2025 season went on to earn spots with NCAA programs, including five at the Division I level.
Â
In 2023, Traywick began a role as the Pitching Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at the College of Central Florida. During his tenure, the pitching staff ranked third in the nation in strikeouts, going on to win the 2023 Division I NJCAA National Championship.
Â
Prior to his championship run with Central Florida, Traywick spent two seasons with Paul D. Camp Community College as the program's Pitching Coach and Recruiting Coordinator. Entering his second season, Traywick was elevated to the program's Associate Head Coach, leading the club to multiple team pitching records.
Â
Traywick moved on to work in the Tampa Bay Rays organization as a Minor League Player Development Assistant in 2019. Included in his role were handling pro scouting assignment duties during spring training and assisting in the organization's draft planning.
Â
Traywick's coaching experience began as a student assistant at the University of Central Arkansas. He graduated from UCA in 2020 with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management.
