The George Washington baseball team fell in extra innings at Richmond on Saturday afternoon, 10-6, dropping to 18-31 on the season and 9-17 in Atlantic 10 action.

Richmond opened the scoring with two runs in both the first and second innings before Robbie Lavey put the Buff & Blue on the scoreboard with a solo home run in the third.

After scoreless fourth, fifth and sixth innings, GW chipped away at the deficit with two runs in the seventh. The first came via a double from Connor Jones, scoring Josh Wenz, while the second was off the bat of Lavey, who tallied an RBI groundout to short to make it 4-3 Spiders.

Nick Mullen knotted the game up at four with a solo home run in the eighth, and GW took its first lead of the contest in the ninth on a bases-loaded walk by Cristino Tufano. Jack Kent made it 6-4 GW with an RBI sacrifice bunt later in the inning, but a two-run homer by Richmond in the bottom of the inning sent the game to extras.

Neither team tallied a run in the 10^th, and after GW went 1-2-3 in the 11^th, Richmond's Evan Wilson ended the game with a grand slam to right field.

Drew Harris was charged with the loss, dropping him to 1-3 this season. Declan Wywoda started on the mound for GW, tossing 5.1 innings and striking out three.

The teams return to action tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. on ESPN+ for GW's final road game of the season.
