Following another solid year on the mound, GW rising senior Andrew Cutler has earned a spot in the prestigious Cape Cod League this summer. Cutler will compete with the Orleans Firebirds, becoming the third GW Rev in the past two years to compete in the Cape.
Â
Cutler made 11 starts in the 2026 season, finishing with a 5-1 record, including a perfect 4-0 mark in conference play. He finished the year with a 4.68 ERA, tallying 54 strikeouts and holding opposing hitters to a .254 average. Nine of Cutler's starts lasted five innings or more, and he tallied five or more strikeouts in seven appearances this year. Included in that total were a season-high nine punchouts against La Salle, along with six K's against Lehigh, Saint Peter's, Saint Louis, VCU and Davidson.
Â
Entering his final year with the program, Cutler holds a career record of 12-1, currently giving him the best winning percentage (.923) in program history. Cutler also ranks in the top 15 all-time in saves (seven), and his 6-0 mark during the 2025 season was the second-most single-season wins without a loss in program history.
Â
Cutler joins Robbie Lavey and Max Haug, who both competed in the Cape Cod League last summer. Lavey also played for the Firebirds, earning a spot in the league's All-Star Game in July. GW alum Harrison Cohen also competed in the Cape, playing for the Cotuit Kettleers in both 2021 and 2022.
Â
Cutler and the Firebirds begin their season on June 13th, with the season concluding in early August.
