WASHINGTON -Â GW men's tennis continues its season-opening four-game homestand on Friday afternoon, welcoming in Howard to the Southeast Tennis & Learning Center. First serve is scheduled for 12:45 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT: The Buff & Blue battled a perennially strong BYU squad in last weekend's season opener, falling 4-3. A pair of three-set singles matches were the difference with the Cougars claiming both. Newcomer Ethan Jacobs earned a singles win in his GW dual debut and teamed up with Ryan Navarro for a triumph at doubles.
ABOUT THE BISON:Â Howard opens its season on Friday and is coming off a 1-13 campaign a year ago with its lone victory a 4-1 decision over Coppin State. Junior Roger Lyn is the top returner for the Bison, picking up five wins in singles play last season.
SERIES HISTORY:Â The two programs haven't met since 2009, a 5-2 decision for GW. The Colonials have won each of the four matches since the turn of the century, also earning victories in 2002, 2003 and 2005.
