Former All-League performer joins Colonials for 2021
WASHINGTON -Â GW men's tennis head coach Rob Castille announced on Monday the addition of Nate Reekie to the program as a graduate transfer from Omaha.
"I am thrilled to welcome Nate to GW this year," Castille said. "Being a grad transfer and having played for four years already, he will bring a lot of experience and depth to the team. He was nationally ranked in doubles last year so being able to add someone of his caliber is exciting. I know Nate will fit in with our team culture and will be a great representative of GW men's tennis."
Reekie ranked as high as No. 78 in the national doubles rankings during the shortened 2019-20 season with the Mavericks, playing in the top pair in all eight matches. He also tied the Omaha program record with his 33rd career singles victory on Feb. 15 vs. Green Bay.
Off the court, Reekie was honored as a two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete and was on the Summit League's Academic Honor Roll three times. He was an All-Summit League performer his freshman season (2016-17), accumulating 14 wins in a single season, the second-most in program history.
