Colonials claim five singles matches to sweep weekend in Ohio

CINCINNATI - GW men's tennis finished off a perfect weekend in Ohio with a 5-2 victory over former A-10 foe Xaiver at the Eastern Hills Indoor Tennis Club.

The Colonials bounced back from dropping the double point despite a victory at #2 from Lawrence Sciglitano and Jakub Behun. In singles play, GW quickly jumped to the lead with straight-set victories from Sciglitano at #5 and Hanyu Liu at #6.

Four of the six singles matches ended up going the distance with GW winning three of the four affairs. Sophomores Zicheng Zeng, Ethan Jacobs and Ben Barnett all claimed the decisive third set at #1, #2 and #3, respectively.

GW is back in competition on Friday, traveling across town to take on Georgetown. First serve is set for 9 a.m.
