Game 1: Davidson 7, GW 3
A five-run sixth for the visitors proved to be the difference in the series opener, as the Wildcats broke open a tie game with the outburst.
Ryan Wilson launched his 16th homer of the day to give Davidson the lead in the third, but GW evened things up with an RBI groundout from Noah Levin in the last of the fourth.
Davidson then sent 10 to the plate, scoring five times off seven hits in the sixth to assume a 6-1 advantage. Wilson provided the big blow yet again with a two-run double off the wall.
GW whittled its way back into the game with single tallies in the sixth and seventh, but got no further. The Colonials left a pair on base in both the eighth and ninth innings, ultimately leaving eight in the game.
Eddie Micheletti Jr., extended his hitting streak to 12 in a row, going 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Robby Wacker collected a two-hit day as well.
Logan Koester was saddled with the loss, allowing six runs on 11 hits in 5.2 innings.

Game 2: GW 2, Davidson 1
A pitcher's duel developed between GW's Teddy Brennan and Davidson's Jacob Peaden in the nightcap.
The Wildcats got on the board first via an unearned run in the second, but Brennan avoided further trouble and danced around baserunners in his 5.2 frames on the hill. He ultimately allowed just the unearned run on four hits with three strikeouts.
Micheletti tied the game in the last of the fourth with a solo homer over the scoreboard in right field, extending his hitting streak to 13 in a row.
With two on and two out in the top of the sixth, GW brought in two-time reigning Pitcher of the Week Chris Kahler to extinguish the fire, getting a strikeout to keep the game tied.
Kahler pitched around two runners in the seventh and racked up two more Ks in the eighth inning to set the table for heroics from his offense in the home half.
Anthony Frechette led off with a single, moved to second on a sac bunt and advanced to third on a Brian Belo single. Sam Gates then smoked a single through the drawn-in infield to place Frechette and push GW in front 2-1.
Kahler returned to the mound in the top of the ninth and shut the door with authority, racking up back-to-back strikeouts before a pop-out ended the game and gave him his fourth win of the year. In 3.1 frames, Kahler kept Davidson off the board with five strikeouts against just three hits.
The Colonials and Wildcats will wrap up the series on Sunday with a 12 p.m. first pitch.
