Head Coach Gregg Ritchie and the George Washington baseball team have announced the addition of graduate transfer Miguel Morales, who will join the club for the 2027 season. Morales, a native of Arroyo, Puerto Rico, arrives in Foggy Bottom after two seasons at Texas Southern.
Â
Morales appeared in 40 games in 2026, making 35 starts primarily as TSU's catcher. A lefty at the plate, he finished with a .366 batting average in 131 at-bats, registering 48 total hits. Included in that mark were four doubles, one triple and one home run. He drove in 33 runs last year and also drew 28 walks, giving him an on-base percentage of .494.
Â
Morales was also solid in the field and on the bases, only committing six errors all year, finishing with a fielding percentage of .980. He threw out eight runners on the bases and swiped eight bags of his own. Morales helped guide the Tigers to a win in the SWAC Tournament, the first the program enjoyed since 2024.
Â
Morales joins a group of seven first-years who will arrive in Foggy Bottom this fall. The GW Revs also return 26 student-athletes from last year's squad. GW's coaching staff has also seen change, with the addition of Peyton Traywick as GW's Associate Head Coach and Pitching Coach. Ramon Garza returns for his second season with the program after being elevated as GW's Recruiting Coordinator as well.
