Baseball Signs Seven to the Class of 2030

Head Coach Gregg Ritchie and the George Washington baseball program have announced the signing of seven incoming first-years who will arrive on campus in the fall of 2026. The class consists of three pitchers and four position players.

"It's with tremendous excitement that we announce the Class of 2030, which will arrive on campus in the fall of 2026," said Ritchie. "This class is made up of exceptional men, both on the field and in life. Each arrives at GW with numerous individual accolades that recognize the work they have put in on the field, in the classroom and in the community. Our coaching staff did a great job finding our next class of Revolutionaries, and each will bring a high level of character and effort to our team and the GW campus. Join us in welcoming this class to the GW Baseball brotherhood!"

Owen Bourgeois
Surrey, United Kingdom / ACS Cobham International School

High School/Prep:
Pitcher for the Great Britain U23 European Championship team, which won the gold medal in 2025… Selected three times for the MLB European Development Team… Named the Tournament MVP for the 2025 London Archers at the Catalonia Baseball Week event in Spain… Plans to major in International Relations.

Owen on his decision to join the Buff and Blue:
I chose GW because it gives me the opportunity to compete in college baseball at a high level while pursuing a serious education in international relations. GW's baseball program offers the competition and discipline I need to keep developing as an athlete. Being based in Washington, D.C., also places me at the center of diplomacy and global politics.

Anthony Coppola
Union, KY / Ryle High School

Selected as a Second Team All-State honoree following his junior season at Ryle HS… Finished the year with a .462 batting average, totaling 48 hits, 41 stolen bases and 43 runs scored… Named an NKAC Division I All-Conference Team selection in 2025… Holds Ryle's single-season and career records for stolen bases… Varsity Offensive Player of the Year in 2025… Member of the National Honor Society… Involved in GoPantry and AllAbilitiesNKY, which works with local kids with disabilities… Plans to major in Exercise Science.

Finished his junior season with Upper Arlington with a 3-0 record, throwing 15.0 total innings and totaling 25 strikeouts… Competed with Bo Jackson Elite, an Ohio-based travel team… Named a Rawlings Preseason All-American for the Central Region prior to 2026… Competed at the 2025 Perfect Game 17U National Elite Championship… Member of the Honor Roll and participated in the STEM Project Lead the Way program… Plans to major in Civil Engineering.

Two-time All-State honoree through his first three seasons of varsity baseball… Three-time All-Region and All-District selection with Churchland HS… Named the 2025 District Player of the Year… Hit over .400 from the plate in both his sophomore and junior seasons, finishing both seasons with an on-base percentage of over .500, and more than 65 hits in each year… Has over 80 steals in his high school career… Honor Roll member all four years of high school… Member of the National Honor Society… Member of multiple extracurricular organizations, including the National Food Bank, Hampton Roads Little League, Boyz 2 Men Program, and the One Warm Coat Organization… Plans to major in Business, with a focus on Finance.
