Baseball Visits #14 Virginia, Hosts Maine

Colonials set for second nationally-ranked opponent of the season
WASHINGTON - GW baseball will take part in a pair of mid-week contests during Spring Break, traveling on Tuesday to #14 Virginia for a 4 p.m. first pitch before returning to Tucker Field at Barcroft Park on Wednesday for a clash with Maine at 3 p.m. Tuesday's game will air live on ACC Network Extra.
MASHING MICHELETTI: Eddie Micheletti Jr. notched his sixth-straight multi-hit game on Sunday afternoon vs. Binghamton with a 4-for-5 day at the dish that included a double, a run scored and an RBI. Micheletti paces the team with nine mulit-hit games overall and has hit safely in all but one game this season. He currently leads the A-10 with 27 hits and is sixth in the conference with his .397 average.
HOO ARE YOU: Virginia moved up to #14 in the D1Baseball Top 25 this week after winning a series at previously-ranked #14 North Carolina over the weekend. The Cavaliers opened the season with 14-straight wins before suffering their first defeat of the season on Saturday at UNC. UVA is fourth in the country in batting as a team (.351) and 10th nationally in scoring, averaging 10.3 runs per game.
Kyle Teel is second in the nation with a .518 batting average while Ethan Anderson (.438) and Henry Godbout (.425) are also well north of .400.
MAINE EVENT: Maine is 3-9 on the year following a series sweep at the hands of Maryland this past weekend. The Black Bears will take on George Mason on Tuesday before battling the Buff & Blue on Wednesday. Maine is second in the America East in batting at .280 and third in scoring at 6.9 runs per game. Connor Goodman paces Maine offensively with a .375 average and 18 RBI.
