Head Coach Gregg Ritchie and the George Washington baseball team have announced the addition of Drew Kinsey to the staff as an assistant coach.
Â
"We're excited to add Drew Kinsey to our GW Revs coaching staff," said Ritchie. "He brings a visible passion for student-athletes and the team's success, a love for the game that exudes pride and integrity, as well as a relentless mentality of excellence and winning. He's a true, young coaching talent in the game today and possesses a positive energy and high character that will be felt across the program. Drew brings to the Buff & Blue a substantial baseball IQ and work ethic that will be a real and productive impact."
Â
Serving as GW's first base, defensive and catching coach, Kinsey arrives in Foggy Bottom after serving as a volunteer assistant coach at Washington College. His three-month stint under Head Coach Tom Fala saw him help spearhead recruiting efforts, evaluate talent at showcases and camps and organize a recruiting database to help streamline efforts.
Â
Kinsey stepped into the coaching role with Washington after a successful four-year career within the program. Kinsey was twice named to the D3Baseball.com All-Region Team. He's also a two-time ABCA All-Region selection, an All-Centennial Conference honoree three-consecutive years and was the 2025 Centennial Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Â
A team captain in 2026, Kinsey set the program record for games played in a season with 42. He also set new program marks in single season runs (60) and walks (37), as well as career hit by pitch (40). The native of Monkton, Md., finished his career with 133 appearances, including 130 starts. He tallied 149 hits, including 28 doubles, and belted 31 homers. He drove in 109 runs, notched a career slugging percentage of .628 and on base percentage of .464.
Â
Kinsey got his start in coaching during the summer of 2025, serving as the 16U Head Coach for the Hereford Baseball Club. His duties included creating and executing all practice plans to help aid in player development, managing program budgets and making cost-effective decisions in all aspects of team needs.
Â
Kinsey earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Washington in May of 2026.
