Miller Joins Bourne in Cape Cod League

Following a solid junior season out of GW's bullpen, rising senior Gavin Miller has earned a spot with the Bourne Braves of the prestigious Cape Cod League. Miller joins fellow GW pitcher Andrew Cutler (Orleans Firebirds) in college baseball's premier summer league.

GW's 2026 recipient of the Jackie Robinson Award, Miller made 19 appearances out of GW's bullpen. He finished the year with a 4.24 ERA and a 3-2 overall record, picking up wins against Yale, Rhode Island and La Salle. Miller tossed a total of 40.1 innings pitched, holding opposing batters to a .209 average. He finished the year with 33 strikeouts, including 26 in A-10 games, while also tallying one save against VCU on April 19. He totaled nine scoreless appearances, seven of which were at least two innings or more.

Entering his senior season, Miller has appeared in 48 games and holds a 6-3 record. He's tossed 79.1 collegiate innings and has 74 career strikeouts.

Along with Cutler, Miller joins Robbie Lavey and Max Haug as recent GW participants in the Cape Cod League last season. Lavey was a 2025 All-Star selection with the Firebirds, picking up national notoriety as a prospect. Last week, he was selected with the 124th pick in the MLB Draft to the San Diego Padres, GW's highest draft selection in program history.
