WASHINGTON - GW baseball begins a stretch of five games away from home on Tuesday as it visits James Madison in Harrisonburg, Va. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT: GW is coming off a series loss to Fairfield over the weekend with its lone win coming behind Chris Kahler's complete game on Sunday. Kahler's performance is one of just seven complete games in the nation so far this season.
EARLY POWER: Through the season's first two weeks, GW sits third in the A-10 in both home runs (10) and doubles (13). The Buff & Blue are also third in the league in slugging percentage at .461 and fourth in batting average at .276. Individually, Eddie Micheletti leads the A-10 with four two-baggers while Sam Gates (.792) and Michael Kohn (.750), rank fourth and sixth, respectively, in the league in slugging percentage.
A LOOK AT JMU: The Dukes are 4-3 on the year and are coming off a three-game sweep of Cornell to run their win streak to four. The two programs have not met since 2016 and GW is visiting Harrisonburg for the first time since 2013. JMU is set to visit Arlington as part of the home-and-home series on March 28.
Fenwick Trimble is the Dukes' top offensive threat with a .423 average and 15 RBI, which ranks eighth nationally. As a team, JMU is hitting .287 with a 6.45 ERA.
Connor Harris will draw the start for GW, while JMU counters with Jack Cone on the bump.
