Men's Tennis Heads to Virginia for Pair of Matches This Weekend

GW hopes to regain momentum against two challenging opponents
WASHINGTON – GW men's tennis is set to compete in a pair of matches this weekend. The Colonials are first heading to Williamsburg, Va., to face off with William & Mary on Saturday at 12 p.m. On Sunday, the Colonials will face off with Old Dominion at 10 a.m. in Norfolk.
LAST TIME OUT: Last Sunday, the Colonials were bested by Temple, 5-2. The Colonials earned the doubles point at the top two positions with strong performances from sophomores Ben Barnett and Zicheng Zeng at #1 and classmates Ryan Navarro and Ethan Jacobs at #2. Ultimately, GW's singles play was not enough to clinch the victory, dropping five of the six matches.
ABOUT THE TRIBE: The Tribe are off to a hot start, currently sitting at 3-0 on the season with wins over James Madison, Norfolk State and Longwood up to this point. On the singles side, the Tribe are led by junior Finnbar Talcott, who received CAA Player of the Week honors to open the season.
ABOUT THE MONARCHS: ODU is off to a strong start as well this season, winning six of its first seven matches with three sweeps (Georgetown, Hampton and Nebraska).
