Colonials improve to 4-1 in league play
BRONX, N.Y. -Â GW men's tennis continued its strong play against conference competition, besting Fordham, 5-2, to improve to 4-1 against A-10 foes this year.
The Colonials started out by sweeping the doubles matches, including collecting a pair of tiebreak wins. First-years Ben Barnett and Zicheng Zeng claimed a 7-3 win in the tiebreak at #1 while classmates Hanyu Liu and Ryan Navarro won at #3 with a 7-5 win in the tiebreak.
GW then won the first three singles matches to clinch the match, receiving straight-set wins from Navarro at #2, junior Lawrence Sciglitano at #5 and Liu at #6. Barnett also won in singles action at #3 to round out the match.
