Men's Tennis Drops Pair of Matches Saturday

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - GW men's tennis fell in a pair of close matches on Saturday at the U.S. Naval Academy, suffering a 4-3 setback against the host Navy before a 5-2 defeat at the hands of Bryant.

First-year Ryan Navarro led GW on the day with two victories at No. 2 singles, accounting for two of GW's five points on the day. Against Navy, first-years Lawrence Sciglitano and Hanyu Liu also picked up wins at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively.

In the nightcap, GW secured the doubles point with a clean sweep of all three matches. However, Bryant won five of the singles matches to earn the comeback victory.

With non-conference play complete, the Colonials turn their full attention to conference play. GW, already 2-0 in the league, will host George Mason and VCU next weekend in its resumption of A-10 competition.
