WASHINGTON – As the George Washington baseball team enters the heart of a 12-game homestand, the Revolutionaries host five games at Tucker Field over the next six days, starting with Tuesday's matchup vs. UMBC at 2:30 p.m. The GW Revs then face crosstown rival Georgetown on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m., before finishing the week with a three-game series against Yale starting on Friday. Game times against the Bulldogs are set for 2:30 p.m. on Friday, 1:00 p.m. on Saturday and noon on Sunday.
The Revolutionaries are coming off their most successful weekend of the young season, sweeping Saint Peter's in three straight games. The Buff & Blue outscored the Peacocks by a combined total of 34-8, including a 17-0 beatdown in Friday's series opener. All three of GW's starting pitchers in the series earned wins, headlined by Declan Wywoda, who tossed six innings of one-hit baseball, including 5.1 innings without allowing a base knock.
UMBC makes the short trip down to Arlington, sitting at 3-4 on the year. The Retrievers tallied a series win over Monmouth last weekend, taking both games of a doubleheader on Saturday, before falling in the finale on Sunday. UMBC's top hitter through seven games is Dylan Melton, who has tallied nine hits and a .333 batting average thus far. Melton has 12 total bases, six runs scored, three doubles and three RBI as well. Georgetown holds an 8-4 record as of Monday and will travel to Rutgers on Tuesday to battle the Scarlet Knights before heading to Tucker Field. The Hoyas have swept consecutive series, including a four-game set with Saint Peter's and a three-game series against FDU last weekend. Georgetown also tallied one win against Winthrop in the team's opening series of 2026, avoiding the sweep with an 8-3 win on Sunday. Georgetown's offense is led by Jeremy Sheffield, who's batting .476 in 11 games. Sheffield has a team-best 20 hits and 16 RBI, to go along with eight runs scored and five doubles. Yale sits at 3-3 through six games, coming off a trip west where the Bulldogs beat Pepperdine in two-of-three games in Malibu. Yale opened the season with Bethune-Cookman, winning Sunday's series-finale to avoid the sweep. The Bulldogs made headlines during the offseason, retaining standout sophomore Jack Ohman, who was named the Perfect Game College Freshman Pitcher of the Year and a NCBWA Second Team All-American. Ohman tossed 35.1 consecutive innings of scoreless baseball to begin his collegiate career, finishing the season with a 1.34 ERA and an 8-1 record as a rookie. Ohman has made two appearances this season, a combined 13.1 innings with two earned runs and 19 strikeouts. He tallied his first win of the season last Friday at Pepperdine.
Offensively, Yale is paced by Garrett Larsen, who's slashing .417 from the dish this year. Larsen has a team-best 10 hits in six games, recording 15 total bases, seven runs, two doubles and three RBI. Yale's complete 2026 season statistics can be found here.
