Six Revolutionaries Making Their Mark in Pro Ball

As the professional season begins to wind down, six GW Baseball alums continue to shine, representing the Buff & Blue to the highest standard. Harrison Cohen (New York Yankees), Trevor Kuncl (Cincinnati Reds) and Robbie Lavey (San Diego Padres) are all competing in the MLB farm system, while Cade Fergus (Hagerstown Flying Boxcars), Steve DiTomaso (Down East BirdDawgs) and Michael Foltz Jr. (Washington Wild Things) are making their mark in independent leagues.

Harrison Cohen
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (Triple-A affiliate of the New York Yankees)
GW Class of 2022
After competing with Team Israel in the World Baseball Classic last spring, Cohen has been effective out of the bullpen this year, appearing in 38 games between Somerset (Double-A) and Scranton-Wilkes Barre (Triple-A). He holds a 4-1 record in Somerset, tossing 23.1 innings and striking out 27 batters. He's held opposing hitters to a .230 average, bringing his career mark to .192 across four professional seasons. At the Triple-A level, Cohen has made 16 appearances out of the bullpen, tossing 20.1 innings and striking out 25 hitters. He has one save and a 2-1 record. In total in 2026, he's amassed 38 games, throwing 43.2 innings and punching out 52 hitters.

Trevor Kuncl
Louisville Bats (Triple-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds)
GW Class of 2022
In his first season at the Triple-A level, Kuncl appeared in 40 games out of the bullpen, tossing 38.1 innings. The 5-10 righty struck out 42 hitters and tallied one win in relief. He finished the year with four saves and was a key set-up man in Louisville's bullpen, accumulating eight holds, which constitutes him entering a close game with the lead and not relinquishing that lead while pitching. Kuncl's season was cut short after he was placed on the season-ending injured list in mid-August.Â

Robbie Lavey
Fort Wayne TinCaps (High-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres)
After being drafted in the fourth round by the Padres in July, Lavey spent two weeks in the Arizona Complex League before being promoted to Fort Wayne at the High-A level. In 10 games with the TinCaps, Lavey has seven hits, including two home runs. He's driven in four runs, holds an on-base percentage of .300 and an OPS of .729. Lavey has also scored four runs and tallied two doubles as well.

Cade Fergus
Hagerstown Flying Boxcars (Atlantic League)
GW Class of 2022
Fergus split time between the Double-A and Triple-A levels at the beginning of 2026, playing a total of 29 games. With the Lehigh Valley IronPigs in Triple-A, Fergus played in eight contests, totaling 25 at-bats. He drove in three RBI on one extra-base hit. While with the Reading Fightin Phils in Double-A, Fergus appeared in 21 contests, registering seven hits and four runs scored. He drove in three RBI, worked four walks and tallied one double. After joining Hagerstown in late June, Fergus has played in 47 games, registering 34 hits. He's tallied eight home runs, seven doubles and two triples, with an on-base percentage of .286 and an OPS of .740.

Steve DiTomaso
Down East BirdDawgs (Frontier League)
GW Class of 2024
DiTomaso has appeared in 91 games for the BirdDawgs, accumulating a stellar .329 batting average in 395 at-bats. He's totaled 130 hits, including 30 extra-base knocks, to go along with 36 RBI and 17 stolen bases. DiTomaso has worked 30 walks, giving him an on-base percentage of .393, and he's also tallied three triples and two home runs, bringing his slugging percentage to .423. DiTomaso was selected as a Frontier League All-Star this season as an outfielder, competing as a reserve for the Atlantic Conference, while also competing in the league's home run derby.Â

Washington Wild Things (Frontier League)
GW Class of 2024
Foltz has appeared in 38 games out of the bullpen for Washington this year, accumulating 40.2 innings pitched. His ERA sits at 4.65, striking out 48 batters in the process. He's tallied one save and holds a 2-1 record on the year. The Wild Things currently sit atop the Central Division standings, holding a three-game lead over the Evansville Otters with nine games to play.
