ARLINGTON, Va. - A pair of two-run dingers in the first two innings did the job for GW baseball on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon at Tucker Field, besting Saint Peter's for the second-straight day, 8-2.
Charlie Rogan launched his fourth homer of the season three batters into the bottom of the first, a two-run shot that scored Robbie Lavey. An inning later, a two-out walk set the stage for Connor Jones' first long ball of the year, which doubled the Buff & Blue's advantage to 4-0.
GW got an unearned run in the third inning before the Peacocks got two back in the fourth on a solo homer and a two-out RBI single.
The score remained 5-2 until the Revolutionaries put the game to bed in the eighth inning with a trio of tallies on RBIs from Rogan, Brodie Freker and Charlie Walsh. Rogan was the offensive leader on the day, going 2-for-5 with two runs scored and three driven in.
Andrew Cutler earned his first win of the season for GW, tossing five innings with two runs allowed on three hits, striking out six. Colin Lebel was dynamite in relief, facing the minimum over three innings with five punchouts. Drew Harris finished things off with a scoreless ninth.
GW will look to finish off the series sweep on Sunday afternoon with a 12 p.m. first pitch from The Tuck.
