WASHINGTON - A soggy Saturday greeted patrons at Tucker Field in Barcroft Park, but the conditions didn't slow the Revolutionaries on the basepaths in an 11-6 win against UAlbany that clinched GW's second-straight weekend series win. The GW Revs swiped seven bags off the Great Danes' battery, running away with a five-run victory margin to make a winner out of Cade Davis (1-1), who came in to relieve starter Graham Jeffries. Max Haug hurled the final three innings while only allowing one hit to pick up his first save of the season.

Grad student Steve DiTomaso checked in with multiple multiples in the box score; multiple steals (two), hits (two) and RBIs (four) in a sterling day for the GDUB offense. Robbie Wacker also littered the stat sheet in the high-powered offensive attack, with a pair of hits, runs and RBIs.

After a Bryan Belo single got George Washington on the board in the first, Wacker tallied his RBIs two batters later, knocking in Belo and McGwire Tuffy to give his team a 3-0 lead after one. While UAlbany answered back to knot it in the top of the second, sparked by DiTomaso, the Buff & Blue put up a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning and never looked back. A DiTomaso single gave GW the lead, and then with Sam Gates on third, the utility man from Haddonfield, N.J., broke for second and drew the throw down, allowing Gates to steal home on the backend of the perfectly-executed double steal.

The GW Revs scored three more in the third, two in the 5th and one in the sixth, and neither club scored after the bottom of the sixth as Haug held the guests scoreless.

In addition to GW's 13 hits, the hosts drew nine walks, having the bases littered with runners throughout the two-and-a-half hour affair. Davis worked three innings to get the win, allowing two hits and three runs while allowing his offense to back him.

The series finale awaits tomorrow as GW looks for the sweep and its sixth-straight win overall at noon. The contest will be streamed live on ESPN+.
