GW opens fall season at Bedford Invitational
WASHINGTON – GW women's tennis will begin its fall season on Friday at the Bedford Invitational hosted by Maryland at the JTCC in College Park.
NEW IN BUFF & BLUE
Head Coach George Rodriguez will lead GW for the first time this weekend after he was named head coach in August. Rodriguez inherits a team that features six returners and one newcomer. Gabriela Giraldo, a junior transfer from the University of Houston, is expected to make her Buff & Blue debut this weekend.
STELLAR STELLA
Stella Wiesemann returns for her junior season after picking up Atlantic 10 First Team honors last spring. Wiesemann led GW with a 16-4 singles record at the No. 1 flight and a 10-8 doubles mark in the top two spots. In addition, Wiesemann went undefeated at the A-10 Championship, helping her team to a semifinal appearance vs. Fordham.
