Tennis Cruises to 7-0 Win Over New Haven

The George Washington tennis team used a well-rounded effort to dominate New Haven on Friday afternoon, cruising to a 7-0 win. GW moves to 8-8 on the year with two matches left in the regular season.

The Revolutionaries got the ball rolling with a sweep of the doubles matches. Madison Lee and Karen Verduzco improved to a team-best 11-5 on the year with a 6-3 victory, while Solange Skeene and Victoria Sasinka tallied a 6-0 shutout for their seventh win of 2026. First-years Devika Manu and Alexandra Lindqvist notched a narrow 7-5 win in the third flight for their fourth victory of the year.

GW continued its domination into singles play, going 6-0 in those matches as well. Skeene got the team started with a 6-3, 6-4 win in the No. 1 spot, while Sasinka tallied a 7-5, 6-3 dub in the second flight. Lee earned a 6-4, 6-3 win in the third flight, while Lindqvist cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 4. Verduzco finished with a 6-0, 6-2 win in fifth singles, while Manu rounded out the win with a 7-6 (7-3), 6-1 victory at No. 6.

The win marks the first match this season GW's entire team failed to lose a set. Lindqvist strengthened her strong year with her team-best ninth singles win of the year, while Lee, Manu and Skeene each tallied their eighth of 2026.

GW concludes its trip to Rhode Island tomorrow, facing host URI at 11:00 a.m. in the team's final A-10 match of the regular season.
