Led by 2-0 singles performances from Laura Damm, Karen Verduzco and Laziza Talipova, the George Washington tennis team wrapped up a weather-shortened River City Open, hosted by the University of Richmond.

Verduzco, who's off to a hot start this fall, recorded two wins in singles play, including a 6-2, 6-3 dub on Friday and a 3-6, 6-4, 10-6 victory on Saturday. In total, Verduzco is 5-1 this fall, including a 3-1 mark last weekend at the Blue & Gold Invite.

A first-year, Damm also finished perfect in singles, recording a 4-6, 7-6, 10-7 win on Friday, followed up by a dominant 6-3, 6-0 win on Saturday. Talipova notched a 6-3, 6-1 win on Friday and finished the weekend with a 6-1, 6-4 triumph on Saturday, capping off a strong showing for the sophomore. Solange Skeene, Devika Manu and Allison Snyder each tallied one singles win apiece as well.

The duo of Victoria Sasinka and Snyder recorded GW's lone doubles win of the weekend, a 6-3 victory over Hampton.

The Revolutionaries return to action next weekend, staying within the DMV to take part in the George Mason Invite on October 10^th and 11^th.
