The George Washington tennis team saw its season come to a close on Thursday afternoon, falling, 4-0, in the quarterfinals of the 2026 Atlantic 10 Championship to Davidson. GW concludes the year with an 11-9 overall record, showing flashes of a very bright future under the direction of Head Coach Jackie Calla.
Â
Despite valiant efforts in all three matches, GW dropped the doubles point. None were closer than the third flight, as Alexandra Lindqvist and Devika Manu fell, 7-6, losing the tiebreaker, 7-3. The pairing of Madison Lee and Karen Verduzco dropped their first doubles match, 6-4, while Solange Skeene and Victoria Sasinka slipped in the second flight, 6-3.
Â
Davidson used wins in singles flights three, four and six to secure the win. Manu tallied a 6-1 win in the first set, but fell 7-5, 6-1 to conclude the match. Sasinka also captured the first set of her second singles match, but it was ultimately left unfinished in the third and final set.
Â
GW's 11 wins this season are the most in four seasons. Calla has all but one player slated to return to the program next year, allowing the Revolutionaries to build upon their strong foundation set this year. With the addition of a strong first-year class, GW is poised to compete at the top of the conference once again.
