Ramirez and Wiesemann play in singles finale
COLLEGE PARK, Md. – GW women's tennis completed its opening tournament of its fall season at the Bedford Invitational on Sunday.
Stella Wiesemann and Alejandra Ramirez picked up a pair of singles wins on Friday and Saturday to advance to Sunday's finale. Wiesemann outlasted her opponent 6-7(3), 6-4, 10-8 to clinch a singles title. Ramirez dropped her singles finale 6-3, 3-6, 5-10, earning second place in her flight.
GW newcomer Gabriela Giraldo and Wiesemann teamed up for the first time as a doubles pair, finishing first in their flight with a 6-3 win on Sunday.

GW is back in action on Oct. 20 at the ITA Atlantic Regionals hosted by Virginia Tech.
