Baseball Wraps Up Homestand vs. William & Mary

The Colonials and Tribe will go head-to-head Tuesday at the Tuck
WASHINGTON - George Washington baseball will wrap up its four-game homestand on Tuesday when it welcomes the William & Mary Tribe to Tucker Field for a non-conference mid-week game. First pitch between the two sides is slated for 3:00 p.m. Live coverage will be available on ESPN+.
LAST TIME OUT:
GW continued its torrid start to A-10 play, taking two of three against Dayton to move to 5-1 in conference. In Friday's game, Harrison Cohen threw eight scoreless innings and GW's offense cranked out nine runs in a 9-1 rout of the Flyers. On Sunday, the Colonials rode a pair of homers to a 9-4 victory in the rubber game against Dayton.
GOTTA LOVE HOME COOKIN':
This season, the Tuck has been the ultimate home field advantage for GW. Entering Tuesday, the Colonials are an impressive 16-4 at Tucker Field, while outscoring their opponents 162-69, and averaging over seven runs a game. GW boasts an impressive .327 team batting average at the Tuck, while six players are batting .320 or better.
On the mound, GW's pitchers have been just as strong. The team ERA at home is 3.24 entering Tuesday, and opponents are hitting just .239. GW's pitchers have also struck out 177 batters in 186 innings at the Tuck.

William & Mary is 16-12 on the season, and has gotten off to a fast 7-2 start in CAA play. The Tribe's offense is its greatest asset, ranking in the top-four in the CAA in average (.271), hits (258), and runs (195). Additionally, the Tribe rarely strikes out, sitting second to last in the CAA with only 182 K's.
William & Mary's biggest offensive threat is Matt Thomas. The senior leads the team in hits (33), homers (7) and RBIs (27), and has the second best OPS on the Tribe (.975)
