Men's Tennis Opens Fall Slate at Joe Hunt Invitational

First of four tournaments on tap in first fall under Castille
WASHINGTON -Â GW men's tennis starts its fall tournament schedule with the Joe Hunt Invitational this weekend in Annapolis, Md. Play opens up on Friday at the Naval Academy and continues through Sunday.
ACROSS THE NET:Â GW is one of 13 teams competing this weekend with notable opponents including A-10 foes St. Bonaventure, Richmond and George Mason. Local foes Navy, Georgetown, Coppin State and Morgan State also join the fray.
FORMAT:Â The invitational features four singles flights and two doubles flights. Play begins on Friday at 10 a.m. with both of the doubles flights and one single flight in action. Saturday features a doubles flight and two singles flights starting at 9 a.m. with Sunday featuring the final doubles and singles flight beginning at 9 a.m.
WELCOME BACK, EVERYONE:Â All eight student-athletes who competed in last spring's dual season return for GW. Seniors Jakub Behun and Dennis Afanasev represent the elder statesmen of the group alongside the sextet of sophomores: Ben Barnett, Michael Barsky, Hanyu Liu, Ryan Navarro, Lawrence Sciglitano and Zicheng Zeng.
THE NEW GUY: Sophomore transfer Ethan Jacobs is the lone addition to the roster after he opened his collegiate career last year at Bucknell. Jacobs was the top performer for the Bison, becoming the program's first freshman to earn First Team All-Conference honors since 2013.
