Colonials aim for above .500 finish in league play
WASHINGTON -Â GW men's tennis will have its final tuneup prior to the A-10 Championship next week by visiting Saint Joseph's on Saturday in Philadelphia. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT:Â The Colonials are looking to snap a brief two-match skid after a 5-2 setback on Sunday to Richmond. First-years Zicheng Zeng and Ryan Navarro won at the #1 and #2 singles positions, respectively, but the depth of the Spiders shone through with four singles wins in addition to earning the doubles point.
ABOUT THE HAWKS:Â Saint Joseph's is 3-6 within the league following a 6-1 win over city rival La Salle on Tuesday. The win snapped a three-game skid for the Hawks, who had previously dropped matches to George Mason (4-0) and Duquesne (4-3), two teams the Colonials have earned wins over this year.
SERIES HISTORY:Â GW and Saint Joseph's are meeting for the third straight year, with the Colonials having won the last two matchups, including a 5-2 victory at home last season. This is the first trip to Philadelphia for the Buff & Blue since 2011.
