
Men's Tennis Shuts Out Navy

STERLING, Va. - The George Washington men's tennis squad opened a pair of weekend matches with a dominant, 7-0, victory over Navy on Saturday afternoon at the Trump National Golf Club.
The Colonials (8-4) opened the day with the doubles point before sweeping singles action.
The No. 3 pair of freshman Jakub Behun and junior Jabari Stafford took the first win of the day before the top tandem of senior Julius Tverijonas and Chris Fletcher triumphed to clinch the early point for GW.
Tverijonas, nationally ranked No. 118 in solo play, then took a quick straight-set win at No. 1 singles to build the Colonials' lead. Junior Chris Reynolds followed with a triumph of his own at No. 3 and freshman William Tutecky clinched the match at No. 5.
Fletcher then won at No. 2 and rookie Dennis Afanasev claimed a No. 5 victory. Senior Fernando Sala closed the day with a triumph at No. 6 to give the Colonials a 7-0 win.
GW returns to Trump National Golf Club on Sunday to take on St. John's at 2 p.m.
