Baseball Looks to Extend Streak in Home Series vs. Monmouth

LEADING OFF: The George Washington baseball team looks to extend its three-game series when it hosts Monmouth at Tucker Field at Barcroft Park for a three-game series. First pitch on Friday is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
BOB ALONG: Senior Bobby Campbell was named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week on Monday after batting .538 with one double, one home run and five RBIs in four games last week.
Campbell leads the Colonials with a .361 average and 14 RBIs and has also totaled two doubles and two home runs across the first 16 games of the season.
DEFENSE: The Colonials continue to lead the Atlantic 10 in double plays turned with 16 twin killings on the young season and are just one of two teams in the nation to turn a triple play thus far.
GW also ranks second in the conference with a .975 fielding percentage.
RENNER'S HOT START: Junior Brady Renner has been dependable as GW's Friday starter throughout the first month of the season. In four games started he boasts a 2.25 ERA with 14 strikeouts while limiting opponents to a .247 batting average across a team-best 20.0 innings.
SHARE THE SAVES: Three different players have recorded a save for the Colonials this season. All-time saves leader Eddie Muhl, freshman Jaret Edwards and sophomore Will Kobos have all successfully closed a game for the Colonials in the early going.
SCOUTING MONMOUTH: Monmouth is 2-11 on the young season with its wins coming against Furman (Feb. 24) and Wofford (March 11).
The Hawks are batting .223 as a team while the pitching staff holds an ERA of 7.54.
SERIES HISTORY: GW won two-of-three games last season at The Tuck and leads the all-time series by a 4-2 margin.
