Bio
Former GW star Bobby Campbell was named the Director of Baseball Operations in August 2017.
Campbell recently concluded a standout four-year career for the Colonials in May 2017 by being named an American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings All-East Region Second Team selection following his senior season.
He was the team's Most Valuable Player as a senior after ranking fourth in the A-10 with a .355 batting average, as well as career-high and team-leading totals of eight home runs, 43 RBI and 15 doubles. He also finished his playing career ranking second all-time in games played (218), fourth in at-bats (806), seventh in doubles (49) and eighth in hits (249).
"This program is a family and anytime that I can help a former player take the next step in their professional career I am happy to do so," said Ritchie. "Bobby just concluded a fantastic career and we are lucky to have him on board in a leadership position for this season. He is respected in the clubhouse and we have seen that he is an effective leader and someone our current student-athletes can look up to and learn from. His presence will help continue to elevate our program while building on our tradition of pride."
