
Men's Tennis Closes Weekend with Win

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The George Washington men's tennis team closed the weekend with a victory over DePaul on Saturday at William & Mary, 6-1.
The Colonials (6-4) took the doubles point before dominating singles action.
Senior Julius Tverijonas and junior Chris Fletcher took the top doubles bout after coming out on top in a tiebreaker. Senior Fernando Sala and junior Christos Hadjigeorgiou won at No. 2 as the Colonials took a 1-0 lead into solo competition.
Tverijonas continued his strong play with a straight-set win in the top spot. Fletcher, Hadjigeorgiou and junior Jabari Stafford each took straight-set triumphs of their own at the Nos. 3, 4, and 6 positions, respectively. Rookie William Tutecky rounded out GW's victories with a win at No. 5 in three sets.
DePaul grabbed its lone point after taking the No. 2 match.
GW next competes in a mid-week match against Temple on Wednesday at the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center.
