ARLINGTON, VA - The George Washington University baseball team had a highly productive day at Barcroft Park on Saturday afternoon, taking two games from the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights' by the scores of 13-1 and 4-0. The first game was keyed by big offense and three-hit games by Tom Zebroski, Sean Rockey and Andrew Haberern.
The second game was decided by a complete game shutout by sophomore Eric Cantrell as he threw seven shutout innings and allowed just two hits and struck out five. After scoring all four runs in the first two frames, neither team scored for the rest of the game, which was played in a brisk 1 hour and 52 minutes.
Zebroski, Bryan Hwans and Gavin Swanson all collected multi-hit games in a contest that saw only one extra base hit all afternoon. The two wins push the Colonials record to 5-6 on the season and they have won four of their first five at Barcroft Park this season.
The two teams will meet tomorrow for a doubleheader at 12:00 p.m., with the opening game being started by senior RHP Pat Lehman. The second game's starter is TBA.
