Men's Tennis Splits Weekend Match-ups

RICHMOND, VA & WASHINGTON, DC - The George Washington University men's tennis team split their weekend matches against Richmond and Binghamton to fall to 4-6 on the season.
The Colonials began the weekend with a 7-0 sweep at Richmond to go 3-0 in Atlantic 10 Conference play. Yan Levinski increased his singles win streak to four with a 6-1, 7-6, win over Richmond's Will Minter at the No. 2 singles spot.
"The team is playing better and working better together each match," said head coach Greg Munoz. "We still have work to do, but what we are trying to accomplish is in our sights."
GW opened their outdoor portion of its home schedule, facing Binghamton at the Mount Vernon Tennis Courts on Sunday.
Chris Kushma was the only Colonial to get a singles win, at the No. 6 spot, against Binghamton. Kushma defeated Rafael Rodrigues 6-2, 6-3, for his third-straight singles win.
Doubles duo of Erik Hannah and Arya Vayghan in the No. 3 spot defeated Binghamton's Alexandre Haggai and Rafael Rodrigues 8-6.
"Binghamton is playing at top 60 level," said Munoz. "The doubles point played a huge role in momentum and we couldn't squeeze it out."
"We weren't out matched, we were out played. We hope to be at that level by next year."
The Colonials next host Navy Wednesday, Mar. 25, at Mount Vernon at 2 p.m.
