Men's Tennis Drops Third Straight Conference Match

CHARLOTTE, NC - George Washington men's tennis lost at Charlotte University 5-2 on Saturday afternoon at the D.L. Phillips Tennis Center. The loss drops the Colonials' record to 2-6 overall and 0-3 in the Atlantic 10 Conference.
Charlotte, undefeated in the A-10 (3-0), survived five match points from the No. 2 doubles potions to clinch the doubles point against the Colonials. In singles play, No. 5 Elliott Daniels (5-5) and No. 3 Brandon Harris (4-5) both picked up wins against the 49ers.
On Friday, GW lost 7-0 to #17 Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. The Rams won all of the matches in straight sets. Junior No. 1 player Mustafa Gencsoy took VCU's Petr Olsak to three sets before falling 6-7(4), 6-3, 1-0(10-6).
George Washington has two matches scheduled for this weekend. The Colonials will travel to Maryland on Friday to take on the Terrapins at 2:00 p.m. On Saturday, GW will host the University of Delaware at 2:00 p.m. in McLean, VA.
