Men's Tennis Falls to Virginia, 6-1

WASHINGTON, DC - The Colonials men's tennis team lost, 6-1, to Virginia Saturday at GW's Mount Vernon Tennis Facility. With the loss, GW fell to 4-4 on the year while Virginia improved to 1-0 in the spring.
Freshman Matt Treadgold (Glenmont, NY/Bethlehem Central) was the lone victorious Colonial at No. 3 singles where he defeated Jonathan Chou, 6-3, 6-3.
"The guys played really well," GW coach Tom Hawkins said of his Colonials. "They kept their wits about them and tried some creative things."
Next up for the Colonials is a Friday, Feb. 15 match against George Mason University at the Mount Vernon Tennis Facility beginning at noon.
