The George Washington baseball team is set to host Dayton this weekend for the team's final series of the 2026 season. Both teams look to end the season on a high note, beginning on Thursday at 3:00 p.m., with the series extending into Friday (1:00 p.m.) and Saturday (12:00 p.m.). GW will honor its senior class prior to first pitch on Saturday, with the ceremony slated to begin at 11:30 a.m. All three games at The Tuck will be carried on ESPN+.
Â
The Revolutionaries' senior class of Max Haug, Greg Marmo, Reese Crochet, Jack Kent, Charlie Rogan and Luke LeMond will be honored prior to Saturday's first pitch. Spectators hoping to watch the ceremony live should be in their seats no later than 11:30 a.m., as the program honors all six Revolutionaries for their outstanding academic and athletic careers.
Â
Prior to Friday's game, GW will honor the 2026 Team MVP and bestow the "I Got Your Back" award to two members of the program. First adopted in 1972, the Team MVP award has been awarded annually, with this year's winner becoming the 55th recipient in program history. The "I Got Your Back" award was first introduced in 2016 and is bestowed annually to players who show exemplary character and are always there when their teammates need them most. Friday's award ceremony is set to begin at 12:20 p.m. at home plate.
Â
Dayton enters the final weekend of the season 28-23 overall, coming off a 16-6 loss to Notre Dame on Tuesday night. The Flyers are 12-15 in conference play this season, sitting three games back of the final postseason position with three games to go. The Flyers will need help from George Mason, Rhode Island and Fordham during the final weekend in hopes of advancing their season.
Â
Jayson King returned to Dayton prior to the 2026 season as the program's head coach after a short one-year departure to join the staff at Vanderbilt. King previously spent seven years as the skipper of the Flyers from 2018-24 before departing for the Commadores. King's offense is led by Danny MacDougall, who's batting .384, which ranks fourth in the A-10. He also leads the program in hits (81), runs (63), doubles (23) and slugging percentage (.616). Dayton's weekend rotation is anchored by Sawyer Jenson, who's 7-2 on the season with a 5.92 ERA. Jenson has tossed 65.1 total innings this year, striking out 57 batters.
