WASHINGTON – After two narrow defeats last week to top teams in the Atlantic 10, the George Washington women's basketball team returns to action Wednesday, traveling to Pittsburgh to face Duquesne. Tip-off is slated for 6:00 p.m. on ESPN+.
LEWIS TALLIES SECOND DOUBLE-DOUBLE
Sunday vs. George Mason, junior Sara Lewis posted 10 points and 10 rebounds, her second double-double of the season. Lewis has arguably been GW's most consistent player this season as one of two members of the Buff & Blue, with Kamari Sims, to start all 18 games in 2025-26.
Lewis is second on the team in scoring at 9.7 ppg, getting into double figures on eight different occasions. She's also shooting the ball at a stellar 83.3% at the free-throw line, one of five players this season for GW shooting above 80% at the charity stripe. She also leads GW in rebounding on the year, pulling down 5.1 per contest.
BECKER SHINING UNDER THE RADAR
Sophomore Tanah Becker, who joined GW following her first-year season at Kentucky, has quietly been one of the Revolutionaries' most impactful players this season, using her gritty and hard-working style to earn consistent minutes in GW's rotation. Becker had arguably her best offensive game of the season on Sunday, posting eight points on 4-4 shooting from the floor in 23 minutes of action.
The 6-1 guard from Winnipeg, Canada, is routinely responsible for guarding the opposing team's best player, typically splitting the duties with Lewis, who have both been anchors on the defensive end of the floor for the Buff & Blue. Becker leads the team in both steals and blocks this season, starting in 16 of GW's 18 games this year. She has shot an efficient 51.8% from the floor and is second on the team in rebounding at 4.6 per contest.
SCOUTING THE DUKES
Duquesne enters the week reeling, sitting at 7-9 overall and having lost its previous four contests. The Dukes are one of two teams in the A-10 still seeking a first conference win, going 0-5 to this point in the season with losses against VCU, St. Bonaventure, Dayton, Saint Louis and Davidson. Dan Burt is in his 13th year at the helm of the program with a 237-154 overall record.
Offensively, Duquesne is led by Alexis Bordas, who averages 15.8 ppg. The first-year guard from Wheeling, W. Va., has been a bright spot for the Dukes this season, scoring in double figures 14 times, including a career-high 38 against Pitt. Along with Bordas, Nadia Moore averages 12.8 ppg, shooting the ball at a 44.3% clip from the floor. Duquesne's full 2025-26 season stats can be found here.
