Barbachano Leads Golf to Sixth-Place Finish at The Goat

ANNAPOLIS, Md., - Senior Manuel Barbachano posted a pair of under-par rounds, good enough to finish third individually as GW tallied a sixth-place team finish at The Goat, hosted by Navy, this weekend.
Barbachano carded back-to-back 1-under 70s in Saturday's first two rounds to put him on the individual leaderboard and came back on Sunday with a 1-over 72 to finish in third place with a 1-under 212 for the weekend. Phillipe Thorin and Benji Garcia Moreira tied for 30th with 10-over 223s while Evan Eichenlaub tied for 47th (+13, 226) and Maxime Lam tied for 50th (+14, 227).
GW finished sixth overall in the team standings with a 26-over 878, two shots better than local rivals Georgetown and George Mason. Loyola Maryland won the team title with a 6-over 856.
The Buff & Blue are back on the links next Monday and Tuesday, September 29-30, at the Nemacolin Collegiate Invitational, hosted by West Virginia in Farmington, Pa.
