Golf Finishes 12th at UNCW Seahawk Intercollegiate

WILMINGTON, N.C. -Â Facing its toughest course of the spring campaign, GW golf carded a 12th-place finish at the Seahawk Intercollegiate at the Country Club of Landfall on Tuesday.
GW finished with a 34-over 898 as a team, one shot ahead of conference foe Davidson. The Buff & Blue's best round was in Monday's second 18 when its 6-over 294 was the fifth-best score among the 15 teams competing. The host UNCW won the competition going away with an 18-under 846.
Manuel Barbachano continued his solid campaign as GW's top finisher, tying for 26th with a 3-over 219. Barbachano, who will compete in the makeup of the Genesis Collegiate Showcase on Thursday in Montgomery, Texas, tallied nine birdies over the three rounds with scores 73, 72 and 74. Maxime Lam had the low round of the week for the Revolutionaries with a 2-under 70 in the second round, finishing overall with an 8-over 224 to tie for 49th.
Following the individual showcase on Thursday, GW is back at the beach next Monday-Wednesday for the Golfweek/Stifel Spring Challenge hosted by True Blue Golf Club in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
