Golf Finishes 11th in Season Opener

GREENSBORO, N.C. - GW golf began its season this weekend at the Bryan National Collegiate in North Carolina, finishing in 11th place with a 16-over 880.
Rodrigo Barahona, returning to action after missing all of last year due to injury, paced the Buff & Blue with a t-16 finish, shooting an even-par 216. The highlight came in Saturday's second round when the graduate student fired a 5-under 67 thanks to six birdies.
Evan Eichenlaub tied for 30th behind a 4-under 68 in the opening round before carding a 74 and 76 to round out his tournament. Maxime Lam, competing as an individual, had the second-best showing for a GW Rev with a t-25 finish on a 1-over 217.
GW carded rounds of 290, 293 and 297 as a team to finish in 11th. UNCG won the team competition going away with a 26-under 838, 19 shots better than second-place Radford.
The Revolutionaries will return to action this coming weekend at The Goat in Annapolis, Md., beginning on Saturday.
