Golf Finishes Third at Babygrande Donald Ross Collegiate

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. -Â GW golf showcased its best form to date of the 2025-26 season, taking the 36-hole lead at the Babygrande Donald Ross Collegiate before ultimately coming in third against a 20-team field.
GW finished with a 2-under 862, four shots off the lead of the champion Richmond and a shot behind George Mason. The Buff & Blue came out on top against numerous other A-10 foes including VCU, Saint Joseph's, Loyola Chicago, Dayton and St. Bonaventure.
Tuesday's second round was the highlight for GW, leading the field with a 6-under 282 to take a one-shot lead over the Spiders entering Wednesday. Richmond then bested GW by five strokes in the final round to take the team title.
Evan Eichenlaub was the standout individual, finishing in a tie for fourth with three under-par rounds leading to a 5-under 211, one shot behind three leaders. Manuel Barabachano (E, 216) finished in a tie for 16th and Adam Bencik carded a 3-over 219 to finish in a tie for 26th.
GW is off from competition until the end of the month, returning to the course on March 30 and 31 at the Seahawk Intercollegiate in Wilmington, N.C.
