WASHINGTON – The George Washington tennis team will honor Alejandra Ramirez prior to the team's final home match of the 2025 season on Friday. The Revolutionaries welcome Davidson to the DMV for a 1:00 p.m. match on Friday at the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center.
Ramirez, the lone senior on GW's roster this season, has spent all four years of her career in Foggy Bottom. Over the course of her tenure, Ramirez has accumulated 15 wins in singles action, setting a new career high with six this season. She's also been part of 17 doubles wins as well, including seven this season with teammate Solange Skeene. Ramirez and Skeene are 7-4 in 2025, the best winning percentage of any pair for the Buff & Blue this year.
Davidson enters the week 10-6 overall but has lost three straight matches against Brown, Rhode Island and Massachusetts. The Wildcats are still winless in the A-10 this year, sitting at 0-4 with losses to Fordham and VCU, along with the aforementioned defeats to Rhody and UMass. Kavya Patel has been Davidson's most consistent performer in singles action, sitting at 10-1 this season. All 11 of her matches played have been in the first flight, and she's currently riding an eight-match winning streak. Bryson Langford is 9-6 on the year, with her wins spread out across the second (3 wins), third (5 wins) and fourth (1 win) flights. The duo of Langford and Savanna Kollock are 8-2 in doubles, best for the Wildcats thus far in 2025.
Following Friday's match, GW will conclude the regular season with a road contest at Richmond on April 19. The Revolutionaries will then compete in the Atlantic 10 Championships, scheduled to begin on April 24 in Orlando, Fla. Follow GWSports.com for the latest news and results for GW Tennis.
