WASHINGTON – The George Washington tennis team celebrated Senior Day on Friday afternoon, honoring Alejandra Ramirez prior to its match against Davidson. The Wildcats got the best of GW, blanking the Revolutionaries, 7-0. GW dropped its fifth match in a row and fell to 6-10 on the season.
Ramirez and her doubles teammate Solange Skeene picked up GW's lone win of the day in the second flight. The pair defeated Davidson, 6-4, to improve to 8-4 on the season together. Friday marked their first win in the second flight, with the remaining seven coming in third doubles.
The win gives Ramirez 18 doubles victories in her career, to go along with 15 in singles play. She'll look to add to that career total next Saturday as the Revolutionaries conclude the regular season at Richmond, with a start time still TBA.
