WASHINGTON – Riding a three-game winning streak, the George Washington women's basketball team returns to action Wednesday, traveling to Delaware for a 7:00 p.m. matchup on ESPN+.
HOME SWEET HOME
Sunday's win over Brown marked the 497th all-time win for GW women's basketball inside the friendly confines of the Charles E. Smith Center. To date, the Revolutionaries hold a .721 winning percentage in Foggy Bottom, a 497-192 all-time record in 689 total games.
In the 50 completed seasons in program history, GW has posted a winning record at home 40 times, with the 1996-97 Elite Eight team registering 18 home wins, the most in program history. Only seven GW squads have finished with a losing record at home, with the remaining three seasons ending at an even .500.
During the program's dominant McKeown era, GW went 19 straight years recording double-digit home wins between the years of 1990-2009. Three teams from that era went undefeated at home, including the 1995-96 team (12-0), the 1999-2000 team (15-0) and the 2006-07 team (13-0).
GW currently sits 4-1 at home this season and needs just three wins to eclipse the 500-win total. With upcoming games against American (Dec. 14), Northwestern (Dec. 21) and Coppin State (Dec. 28), the Buff & Blue have the opportunity to deliver a late holiday present to the GW faithful later this month.
REYNOLDS STAYS HOT
Gabby Reynolds continued her stellar play on Saturday, posting a team-high 20 points en route to a 53-48 win over Brown. Reynolds has now scored 18+ points in five-consecutive games, averaging 20.4 ppg over that span and 4.2 rebounds a night.
Reynolds has emerged as GW's offensive leader this season, averaging 14.9 ppg on the year. Kamari Sims (8.8 ppg), Emma Theodorsson (8.1 ppg) and Sara Lewis (8.1 ppg) are all contributing heavily on the offense as well.
Reynolds, a preseason Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second Team selection, posted 10.5 ppg over 30 contests in 2024-25, earning a bid on the A-10 All-Rookie Team. Reynolds finished her first-year season with 15 games of 10+ points, including 12 during conference action.
SCOUTING THE BLUE HENS
Delaware enters the week 5-2 overall, riding a four-game winning streak that includes victories over American, Loyola (Md.), Towson and most recently Colgate in overtime. The Blue Hens struggled out of the gates, losing two of their first three contests, before rattling off four-consecutive wins over the past three weeks.
The Blue Hens are led by Head Coach Sarah Jenkins, who is in her fourth year with the program. Jenkins took over prior to the 2022-23 campaign and has amassed a 45-53 overall record. This season, Jenkins' squad has been efficient at getting to the free throw line, ranking 16th in the country in free throws made per game (17.3) and 15th in the nation in free throw attempts per contest (24.6). The Blue Hens are also stellar on the offensive boards, ranking 52nd in Division I, grabbing 14.7 a night.
Offensively, Delaware is paced by a quartet of scorers, all averaging 13+ ppg. Ande'a Chersier leads the way at 13.8 ppg, while also grabbing 8.2 rebounds a night. Kailah Correa is second on the team in scoring at 13.6 ppg, while also leading the team in assists, dishing out 17 thus far. Lay Fantroy puts in 13.2 ppg and grabs a team-high 11.3 rpg, while Trinity Vance has averaged 13.0 ppg. Delaware's full 2025-26 season stats can be found here.
