WASHINGTON – The George Washington women's basketball team goes for its seventh consecutive win and a milestone 500th all-time victory inside the Charles E. Smith on Sunday, welcoming Coppin State at 2:00 p.m. on ESPN+.
FOGGY BOTTOM 500
Sunday's win over Northwestern marks the 499th win for the program inside the Smith Center. With a win over Coppin State this Sunday, the Buff & Blue would eclipse the 500-win milestone for games played at home. The Smith Center has treated GW well over the years, with the team holding a 499-192 (.722) all-time record at home.
In the 50 completed seasons in program history, GW has posted a winning record at home 40 times, with the 1996-97 Elite Eight team registering 18 home wins, the most in program history.
During the program's dominant McKeown era, GW went 19-straight years recording double-digit home wins between the years of 1990-2009. Three teams from that era went undefeated at home, including the 1995-96 team (12-0), the 1999-2000 team (15-0) and the 2006-07 team (13-0).
THEODORSSON EYES MILESTONE
Senior Emma Theodorsson needs just 21 points to hit the 1,000-point milestone in her career. The 6-1 guards from Pittsburgh, Pa., joined GW prior to the 2025-26 season after spending one year at Loyola Chicago. Theodorsson began her career at Bucknell, playing two seasons with the Bison from 2022-24.
Theodorsson has appeared in 99 career games to date, making 73 starts in that span. She averages 9.9 career ppg, including 8.7 ppg with the Revolutionaries this year. Theodorsson's best statistical season came in 2023-24, when she led Bucknell, averaging 13.2 ppg, to go along with 5.7 boards per contest.
Theodorsson is coming off arguably her best game with the Buff & Blue, posting 16 points and eight rebounds off the bench in GW's 75-62 win over Northwestern last Sunday. She's scored in double figures six times this season, including a 13-point, 10-rebound double-double at Longwood on Nov 17.
SCOUTING THE EAGLES
Coppin State travels to the District on Sunday, holding a 2-12 record, having lost four consecutive games. Under the guidance of first-year Head Coach Darrell Mosley, the Eagles have played a tough non-conference schedule, facing seven power conference opponents, including Arizona State, Ohio State, Penn State, SMU, Georgia, 13th-ranked Tennessee and eighth-ranked Oklahoma. Coppin State's two wins this year came against D-II Lincoln (Pa.) and Sacred Heart.
The Eagles are led by Khila Morris, who's averaging 11.1 ppg. Morris is shooting the ball at a 39.0% clip from the floor and grabbing 3.9 rebounds a game. Patricia Sosa Lora has been Coppin's most well-rounded player, averaging 6.9 points and a team-best 5.8 rebounds a game. Coppin State's full 2025-26 stats can be found here.
