Tennis Opens Fall Season at Bedford Cup

WASHINGTON – The George Washington tennis team opens the 2024 fall season this weekend, competing in the Bedford Cup hosted by the University of Maryland. The three-day event will be held at JTCC and begins at 9:00 a.m. each day.
The Revolutionaries see its full roster competing in the opening weekend with seven individuals and three doubles teams taking part in the action. Patricia Ungure-Rogozoveca and Karen Verduzco will compete in Flight One singles, while Vaida Matuseviciute will represent GDUB in Flight Two. Victoria Sasinka and Madison Lee will take part in Flight Three, with Solange Skeene participating in Flight Four. Alejandra Ramirez, GW's lone senior, will compete in Flight Five.
In doubles action, the teams of Matuseviciute/Lee and Verduzco/Ungure-Rogozoveca will compete in the Blue bracket, while Sasinka/Ramirez work together in the Red bracket. 12 total teams will compete in the event this weekend including fellow Atlantic 10 member George Mason.
